On the 27th of June 2017 at between 12h00 and 12h30, a City of Cape Town driver in a bakkie was speeding, tailgating other road users, and ended up overtaking numerous cars on their left, by using the yellow lane.
This driver was reportedly also aggressive to the other road users present and due to the fact that he was not using his hazard lights, it was quite clear that his behaviour could not be attributed to an emergency.
Upon complaining about this incident to the City of Cape Town via their Facebook page, we were very pleasantly surprised by the professional manner in which this complaint was then managed.
In addition to ensuring that the driver in question received disciplinary measures in line with the traffic violation, City of Cape Town will be using this incident as an example to other council drivers, to illustrate that reckless driving is never acceptable.
The Senior Superintendent in charge of managing this case, was highly efficient in not only keeping in touch with the complainant, but also providing insight as to the outcome of the actions taken to remedy this matter.
Such incidents provide an outstanding example of how, with the correct experience and knowledge, management and staff can successfully manage a variety of situations as they arise.
Well done City of Cape Town!
