The Start of Good Things to Come at Ikhaya Loxolo, Home for the Elderly – April 2017

On Tuesday 18th April, MEC Fritz from the Department of Social Development (DSD) and the Management team of the Al-Imdaad Foundation, visited Ikhaya Loxolo in Gugulethu.

During this event 50 walking sticks, 50 hygiene packs and 2 wheelchairs were donated.

DSD and the Al-Imdaad foundation started recently to partner for the first time in the Western Cape, with a view to establishing a future relationship where similar charity donations can be delivered to the elderly. This event was an exercise in confirming human dignity in the elderly.

Mr Fritz expressed the fact that he was impressed with the effort made at Ikhaya to improve the security, and commented on the cleanliness cialis 20mg of the facility. He extended an appreciation for the contribution that the Management and ICRA team made at Ikhaya.

Mr Abed Karim from the Al-Imdaad Foundation confirmed the above in his speech, and stressed the fact that their own aim is to add value and bring dignity to the lives of the elderly.

MP Shahid Esau, the Constituency Head from Al-Imdaad, mentioned that they are setting up an office in Cape Town and will continue to partner with DSD regarding the projects for the elderly persons.

Toward the end of the event, Mr Fritz made a special announcement that the winter readiness project, where DSD and Al-Imdaad will partner together, will start with Ikhaya as the first Home to receive warm blankets.
